Applause Proofing One thing I learned is that I need to proof for applause. I mostly train in my house, and my dog was definitely distracted by the audience's applause (luckily she recovered quickly with verbal help from me). She's competed in obedience & agility, so she's used to the presence of an audience, but she's not used to the clapping. Some of the other competitors practice as a group, and their dogs actually improved when they heard the applause. This tip is courtesy of Judi Truskey, USA
